Serves 2

WHAT YOU NEED

  • 1 ½ cups sprouted buckwheat (or 1 cup soaked buckwheat)
  • 3 Tbs. dry flax soaked in 3/8 cup water
  • 10 figs and ½ cup raisins soaked in 1 cup filtered water
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. allspice
  • 1 tsp. ginger
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract (optional)

 HOW TO PREPARE

Place all of the ingredients, except dried fruit soak water, in Vitamix and blend until smooth.  Once a creamy consistency has been achieved, slowly add in soak water while blending.  Serve warm or unheated.  Yum!  Makes 3 cups.

Note:  A Vitamix is the preferred tool for this recipe as the food processor does not completely puree the flax seeds.  A blender will work also but you’ll probably need to help your blender out by stirring with a spoon while blending.  Be careful not to stick your spoon in too far – spoons are not part of the recipe. 🙂  You could also add extra water to get the cereal to blend properly, but you’ll end up with more of a seed sauce consistency.
