Hirsch Center for Integrative Medicine strives to offer comprehensive and holistic health education to assist our community in achieving optimal wellness in every aspect of their lives.

“Health is not the absence of disease. It is an innate quality of resilience that the organism has which enables it to maintain equilibrium, to interact with things in the environment that are toxic and harmful and not lose balance. It is up to everyone to learn how to protect and enhance that innate quality and those innate mechanisms of healing.” ~ Dr. Andrew Weil

HCIM Door LogoHCIM Online Support

It can feel incredibly vulnerable to not feel well and to not have the level of health you once had or that you know to be possible. Having vibrant energy and feeling well is foundational for almost everything we do in our lives. When we are not feeling our best, we can lose site of who we are and what’s most important as we navigate this new version of ourselves. Often we begin to disconnect from pieces of our life and the people in our lives to help us generate more energy, preserve any remaining energy or just to create space for doctors appointments and health protocols.

At HCIM, we understand how difficult this can be for our patients. We also understand how isolated and alone many of you feel. We believe that having a strong and empathic community is part of the cure, so in an effort to better support our patient community, HCIM has started an online support group on Google+.This is a private group open solely to HCIM patients. Providers will be logging on weekly to provide feedback and offer guidance and perspective. Best of all, you will be networked with patients engaged in similar protocols and asking similar questions about their health and healing.

Our provider team has identified a set of topics that seem most relevant for our patient community. These include:

  • Infection Support
  • Detox, Weight loss, Inflammation
  • Fatigue
  • Nutrition
  • Cancer Support/Prevention

If you would like to join our online community follow this link to HCIM Google+ Support Group. If you do not already have a Google account you will be asked to set one up. When you click the link the screen will read “You must sign in to Google+ to view this community“. In the upper right hand corner of the screen click “Sign-In“. You will then be asked to enter you Google email and password (if you already have an account) or if you do not have an account click “Create an Account“. Complete the account process. Once you are done you can search for the HCIM Community and request to join. Stacy will approve your request and once approved you can begin engaging with our online community. We look forward to seeing you online.

Waiting room windowTappy Hour – First Wednesday of Each Month

Led by Valerie Burke, MSN
Many of you have learned about tapping from one of our providers or perhaps you have even done an EFT tapping session at HCIM. We are now excited to offer you, in partnership with Valerie Burke, MSN, a monthly tapping group.

“Tappy Hour” is an open group intended to support those who wish to release issues that get in the way of their health and happiness. EFT, or tapping, is a powerful healing tool that combines “needleless acupuncture” with psychological principles. EFT works well with a wide variety of physical and emotional challenges, including pain, fatigue, stress, frustration, anxiety, and any other emotional roadblocks that may be getting in the way of your healing. This group will be a “borrowing benefits” group, so bring an issue you would like to resolve. No prior EFT experience is required. Offered at HCIM the first Wednesday of each month from 12:00-1:30, $17. Registration Required.

Placenta displayPlacenta Medicine – Third Friday of Each Month

Led by Diksha Berebitsky of Blissful Birth Initiations
The placenta, made into capsules, is incredibly nutritious and beneficial for women. Women who take their placenta capsules tend to have better postpartum experiences, avoid the baby blues, have an increase in energy, and an increase in milk production. Traditional Chinese Medicine has used placenta for centuries to treat issues such as fatigue and insufficient lactation, and scientific studies have bolstered the use of placenta for these conditions. Using the placenta for postpartum recovery is a very easy and natural way to feel better after a woman gives birth.
Offered at Hirsch Center for Integrative Medicine the third Friday of each month from 6:30-7:30, Free. Registration Required.
